Campaign Obama: I want to go line by line through every item in the Federal budget and eliminate programs that don’t work, and make sure that those that do work work better and cheaper.
President Obama: I am signing an imperfect omnibus bill because it's necessary for the ongoing functions of government, and we have a lot more work to do. We can't have Congress bogged down at this critical juncture in our economic recovery.
True enough, he is not bogging down Congress with OUR economic recovery, he's too busy protecting every civil servant from having to be bogged down with OUR economy, THEIR economy is fine: Congress got pay raises, civil servants got pay raises, their benefits packages are better than ANYTHING offered in the regular citizen market.
'Nuf said.
