Perhaps the honeymoon period will have starstruck Americans hopefully gazing into Obama's eyes ignoring the fiasco at our doorstep.
For me, I voted for Obama based on his promises for health insurance: The same choices available to members of Congress...you know, the best coverage available for the most reasonable cost without exclusion for pre existing conditions? That promise, that basis of my vote is now a tag line in the throw away budget of 2010 that leaves acknowledgment of the promise and the problem but reserves no money for, provides for no reforms of and leaves me, frankly, disappointed.
The minute we started hearing: "We inherited this problem...." our minds should click to excuse. We were not warned that billions, nay trillions would be thrown out to maybe impact problems that of course, were not their fault. President Obama, is the failure of programming to do what it was designed to do at the cost of billions going to be your responsibility?
Five years, ten years down the road....This is a stalling tactic and excuse. You throw trillions out there and we can wait half a decade to see change?
We had to act, we could not fail to act: Okay, are we really this stupid? Actions that make things worse are PART OF THE PROBLEMS of the future. Nobody expected action that was so thoughtless and ill-planned that it would amount to throwing money out there and hoping something, anything improved. Further, actions can be tiny, the blink of an eye, the twitch of a finger, they needn't be experiments in what happens if we pay every institution in the US so that it continue on its merry way.
AAQT Today: Read throught the budget and ask where those persuasive words of campaign Obama are today.
