Vanessa Ho reports for SeattlePI.com that Washington insurance companies have already filed for premium increases. Further, "The premium increases follow multi-million-dollar losses in investments suffered by the state's top three insurers, which reported their financial statements earlier this month."
Is the problem really too big to do anything? When governments and companies run short of dollars they have many options, but they too are run by human beings so they go for the easy way: Charge more. Without the restriction of people refusing to pay more, we find the wasteful and irresponsible spending funded by consumers, given no choice but to accept the bad deal.
Health insurance companies have exploited the American people for a long time. The case of Washington is a great opportunity to wake up and smell the coffee...if they need money they're coming to you.
